GGW FEMALE KILI GUIDE SCHOLARSHIP
As anyone who has climbed Kilimanjaro will know, we are all so reliant on the hard work of the porters who carry heavy loads on the mountain. Without their help we would not be able to experience this wonderful mountain. We believe it is essential that all staff get the opportunity to progress in their chosen careers. Each year on Kilimanjaro Earths Edge reward one of their hardworking porters by paying for their training to become a guide.
GGW wants to do it’s part in encouraging more Female Porters to join the team. From 2011 to 2021 the figure of Women working on the mountain never rose by a single percent. Because of Earths Edge we saw the very first GGW Kilimanjaro expedition headed by a 50% female team. All the lead roles were led by Women. Earths Edge has a goal to increase this percentage year on year culminating in a Worlds First All Female Kilimanjaro Team.
By buying a sticker bundle you are contributing to one of these female porters taking their next step in their careers.
All profits from each sticker bundle will go into a scholarship fund.
